Description

Experience the electrifying artistry of the Transatlantic Guitar Trio, a rare meeting of three guitar virtuosos from three continents. British fingerstyle champion Richard Smith, German gypsy jazz master Joscho Stephan, and Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist Rory Hoffman have joined forces to breathe fresh life into the guitar traditions of Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, and Jerry Reed. Their live performances reveal a mesmerizing synergy and technical brilliance that have captivated audiences and critics alike.

At the heart of the trio's success is their fearless musical range. Richard blends ragtime, classical, and swing into a style entirely his own; Joscho reworks timeless gypsy jazz standards with harmonic refinement and rhythmic flair; Rory moves fluidly between guitar, accordion, banjo, and a dozen other instruments—making every set a dynamic feast for the ears. Together they capture the sheer excitement of three distinct musical worlds colliding on one stage.

As seasoned festival favorites, the trio's members have wowed crowds at prestigious events such as Merlefest, the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention, and Djangofest, in addition to selling out concert halls across Europe and the US. Richard was National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion in 2001 and inducted into the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame; Joscho has performed at New York's legendary Birdland Jazz Club and the Lincoln Center; Rory is a regular at the Grand Ole Opry and a two-time ICMA Musician of the Year.

Beyond the trio's thrilling stage presence, each member has collaborated with some of the world's finest musicians. Joscho has shared stages with Bireli Lagrène, Stochelo Rosenberg, and Tommy Emmanuel; Richard has performed and recorded alongside Chet Atkins himself and remains one of Tommy Emmanuel's favorite duet partners; Rory has toured and recorded with Kacey Musgraves, Ricky Skaggs, and the John Jorgenson Quintet—further proof of the stellar reputation each brings to this stage.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness the Transatlantic Guitar Trio's breathtaking combination of virtuosity, swing, and boundary-pushing creativity. Their concerts promise an exhilarating evening of guitar mastery—one that will leave you inspired, energized, and eager for more.
