Description
Transfolk WA at Scitech is a special, free event happening for trans and gender diverse community members and their loved ones in WA! This event is for folks of all ages, and provides an opportunity to have Scitech almost all to yourselves to explore, play, and learn about science in a welcoming and friendly space!
Why should you come? Here are a few reasons!
Door Prizes! Win one of many door prizes related to science just for showing up!
You’ll get free access to ALL of Scitech’s interactive exhibits. Push buttons, pull levers, solve puzzles, and see science in action, all at your own pace.
We’re opening up the planetarium! Lean back and take an incredible journey through the stars, planets, and galaxies. It’s an out-of-this-world experience!
Meet Inspiring People! We’ll have stalls promoting pathways to studying and working in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM), as well as stalls from some incredible LGBTQIA+ community organisations who are doing great work that you can learn all about and get involved with.
Some catering will be provided!
We’ll have dimmed lighting, a quiet room, and other sensory-friendly considerations.
There will be Auslan interpreters or closed-captions for talks and events.
We’re making sure our team includes paid First Nations people and People of Colour who are trans and gender diverse. This means you’ll see friendly, familiar faces.
Entry, exhibits, science and puppet shows, planetarium, it’s all completely free, so everyone can come along and have a fantastic time.
While the event is free, places are limited, so registrations are essential!
We can't wait to see you there!
