Transform a bloke's shirt
Event description
About the workshop
Learn how to transform a men's shirt into a women's shirt tailored especially to fit you!
A quality garment should last for years, and it wasn't that long ago that they did. You'd either make one yourself (cos everyone knew how to sew), with carefully and excitedly chosen quality cloth from the Draper’s Shop, or buy something that was designed and made locally. There’d be generous seam allowances so you could “let it out” if you got bigger, because it was expected that you'd have this garment for years.
Funnily enough, men’s shirts are still well made, and with a quality of cloth that is almost never found these days in women’s clothes. What a fab resource! Let's use it!
Join Repair Cafe fixer Sue Arnold (aka Miss Wattle) for a 3 hour session that will show you how to make two different styles of women's shirts. After the workshop you'll know enough to muck around and make up your own versions!
