Uplifting Transgender Dignity:
Cultural competency training for working with transgender clients
Thursday 22 October, 1.00-2.30pm
Presenter: Nora Gilmour
90 minute training to assist counsellors, ministers, allied health and community workers to work effectively and ethically with transgender people.
With reading = 2 hours ‘Diversity’ CPD.

During this training you will gain:
An introduction to transgender communities and contemporary language,
Understanding of common unmet needs and struggles across the transgender community,
Assistance navigating faith and spirituality in these conversations,
Action tools to assist transgender folk to feel safe engaging with your professional practice,
An open, welcoming space to ask your questions.
Nora Gilmour is the Tāmaki Makaurau Regional Coordinator for RainbowYOUTH, ensuring Auckland’s queer youth have additional support and community. She previously worked at Auckland Sexual Health Service as the Transgender Health Key Worker, working alongside transgender populations to receive respectful gender-affirming healthcare. She recently achieved a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and has a Performing Arts degree. She has provided dozens of cultural competency trainings in academic, community and healthcare contexts.
