The Event

A unique musical experience exploring the Planetary Crisis with live music, storytelling, and largescale visuals.

The planetary crisis is now our inescapable reality and is shaping every part of our lives, and will do so for generations to come.

Music for a Warming World is a Melbourne based live music and multimedia project that has performed at music festivals, such as the Woodford Folk Festival, art galleries, universities, concert halls and many communities from Queensland to Tasmania.

Your performers

Music for a Warming World is an acclaimed and unique Eco-meditation Concert of original folk and contemporary music using large scale and stunning visuals, telling a captivating and entertaining story exploring ways to live within our rapidly changing world. Scientifically grounded, emotionally powerful and compassionate, it has been performed at music festivals, such as the Woodford Folk Festival, art galleries, universities, concert halls and many communities from Queensland to Tasmania.

Music for a Warming World is written and produced by Simon Kerr (songwriter/guitarist), with Kylie Morrigan (violins), Mal Webb (multiple instruments) and Carly Wilding on Laptop/Visuals.

Simon currently works at La Trobe University on the water and environmental future of the Murray Darling Basin. He has a Master’s degree and PhD in environmental management and runs the Melbourne Musicians Climate Crisis Network. As a songwriter, he recently released his 4th Studio Album.

Kylie is a professionally trained classical violinist who played for several years with the Orchestra Victoria. In recent years she has brought her considerable musical skills into a range of contemporary musical projects, including Music for a Warming World and Formidable Vegetable, a permaculture funk-swing band.

Mal is a legendary Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist, song writer and vocal adventurer who has played with many leading musicians and bands, including Formidable Vegetable, and tours regularly to the UK and Europe. Mal is also a world-class beatboxer.

Your Host - Transition Darebin
We are a community group based in Darebin which aims to inspire a transition to more sustainable ways of living. This series of workshops supports local people by showcasing their skills within the community. The sessions offer opportunities to learn about sustainable living, be informed about climate/environmental issues and build stronger connections between local people, in order to create a healthy, sustainable and inclusive community.
