Transitioning Your Career After Breast Cancer
Description
Finishing breast cancer treatment is a milestone. But for many of us, it’s also the start of another journey that people don’t talk about nearly enough: going back to work.
As a breast cancer survivor, I’ve found re-entering the workforce more challenging than I expected. There are questions about my energy and my confidence; how much to share and with whom and how to explain a gap in your CV.
To add, there’s a quiet realisation that you may not be the same person you were when you stepped away from work. For me, I found I had different priorities, a different perspective and a different idea of what meaningful work is now.
I know I’m not alone in this.
I’m hosting a free meet-up for women who have been through breast cancer and are navigating their return to work.
It’s a chance to come together, share experiences and talk openly about the challenges, the opportunities and the differences we’re each noticing as we make this transition. There’s no pressure and no expertise required. Just a welcoming space with women who understand.
