In this seminar, Clare Richards discusses her experiences as an autistic translator, as well as representations of neurodivergence and disability in translated literature.

About Clare Richards

Clare Richards is an award-winning literary translator working from Korean. Her debut full-length translation, Kang Hwagil’s gothic thriller Another Person was released with Pushkin Press in 2023. She has since gone on to publish multiple works, including a co-translation of NY Times Bestseller BTS: Beyond the Story (Flatiron Books) with Anton Hur and Slin Jung. Clare has taught at the British Centre for Literary Translation Summer School and is also the current National Centre for Writing Emerging Translator Mentorship mentor in Korean. In her spare time, she’s often found gardening, crocheting, or reading in her cottage in the English countryside.

Light dinner provided to attendees a half-hour before the event at 5:00pm.

The event will be held in the Engma Room, which is Room 3.165 in the Coombs Building. An event organiser will be present on the day to help guide people to the room.
