Adrian Schrinner has been Lord Mayor of Brisbane since 2019, leading Australia's largest local government and representing more than 1.3 million residents. As Brisbane prepares to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Adrian is leading Brisbane Beyond the Games, the city's legacy plan, to make sure the benefits are felt by every resident before, during and long after the Games. Transport sits at the heart of that legacy. His focus is on a network that works for people of all ages and abilities, bringing frequent, reliable public transport closer to more homes and making it easier and safer to get around on foot. That work includes planning the expansion of Brisbane Metro and progressing the Green and Gold Grid, creating safer, shadier and more walkable links between venues, precincts and neighbourhoods. Pedestrian bridges like the Kangaroo Point Bridge, with lifts and dedicated paths for people walking and riding, are already making the city easier to navigate, while services such as Council Cabs help older residents stay connected to their local communities. A father of four, Adrian is determined to keep Brisbane moving and make sure it remains Australia's lifestyle capital.
