Trash Free Gulf: Cypress Creek Watershed Clean Up
Description
Join the Watershed Association this May for a roadside clean up in the Cypress Creek watershed as part of Trash Free Gulf, a program of The Gulf Trust.
Together, we’ll remove litter at its source and help prevent it from entering Cypress Creek and traveling downstream into the Blanco River, the San Marcos River, the Guadalupe River, and ultimately the Gulf.
This effort is part of a larger 2026 initiative to conduct 60 cleanups across major watersheds, recruit 2,800 volunteers, prevent 45,000 pounds of trash from reaching the Gulf, and remove 6,000 plastic bottles from our environment.
Our clean up will focus on Jacob’s Well Road and Mt. Sharp Road. Once we gather, we’ll break into three groups to cover the area efficiently. Volunteer spots are limited to 20 participants, and carpooling is encouraged.
We’ll provide gloves, trash bags, grabbers, water, and snacks. A portable restroom will also be available on-site.
Come be part of a community effort to protect our waterways from source to sea.
