Trash MTG - Pauper Commander

Event description

Join us for a monthly Monday event in the Netherworld as we dig into infamously convoluted card game Magic The Gathering! In conjunction with our mates (and MTG fiends) Vault Games, we’ll be getting trashy and hosting an ‘extremely’ casual night of Pauper Commander. We want you to MINE YOUR CARDS you’d otherwise ignore. The ones sitting in shoe boxes at the bottom of a cupboard, potentially never to see the light of day again…until now.

If you don’t have quite enough cards to put something together, we’ll have a collection of 10,000 cards on site you can dig into to trade in and out of.

Pauper Commander follows the normal Commander rules except… your Commander is an uncommon, and the rest of the 99 are commons. Health is a hair lower at 30 and commander damage is 16. In the spirit of ‘Trash MTG’ and an encouragement to use what you have instead of riding the meta wave, we’ll have a house rule that regardless of the history of the card, all common cards included must be common according to the card.

If you haven’t played Commander before, the Vault Games and Netherworld crew are happy to teach you and will even have a handful of house decks on hand you can utilise if you don’t have the trash resources to pull a deck together.

If you’re after any Magic sealed products, make sure you swing over to Vault Games CBD, Clayfield or online via vaultgames.com.au!

Each ticket comes with your first drink and a custom token card illustrated by Nelson Gibbons (Choose between Insect, Zombie, Goblin, Crab and Spirit). It happens on Monday the 13th of October at 6.30pm and tickets can be grabbed via events.humanitix.com/trashmtg
