Trauma-Informed Does not Mean No Accountability
Description
Trauma-Informed Doesn’t Mean No Accountability
Understanding behavior without excusing harm.
Trauma-informed practice asks us to consider what may be underneath someone’s behavior. But understanding where a behavior comes from does not mean ignoring its impact, removing boundaries, or allowing harm to continue.
That distinction can become especially complicated in workplaces, healthcare, human services, leadership, families, and relationships where we are often asked to balance compassion, safety, boundaries, and accountability at the same time.
In this live 90-minute training, we’ll move beyond the idea that being trauma-informed simply means being understanding. We’ll explore what it actually looks like to recognize trauma responses while still addressing harmful behavior and maintaining clear expectations.
Together, we’ll explore:
How trauma can influence behavior, communication, conflict, and reactions
The difference between understanding behavior and excusing its impact
Why accountability and trauma-informed practice are not opposites
How our own triggers and regulation affect the way we respond to others
The role of boundaries and psychological safety in trauma-informed practice
Practical ways to respond with both compassion and accountability
How to move trauma-informed principles from awareness into everyday practice
Who is this training for?
