Trauma-Informed Practice for Frontline Teams - for CHSP providers

Many older people receiving CHSP services have lived through trauma — war, migration, violence, institutionalisation, medical trauma, grief, and loss. This workshop helps staff recognise trauma responses and respond in ways that support safety, trust, and emotional regulation.

Learning Outcomes:

• Understand trauma in late life

• Recognise trauma responses in older people

• Respond with attunement and safety

• Reduce escalation through trauma‑informed communication

• Strengthen trust and rapport in home support relationships
