This is a 20 hour in-person WorkshopTrauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a validated clinical intervention for people experiencing complex PTSD or chronic treatment resistant PTSD.
In this exciting learning experience for yoga teachers, therapists (yoga experience is not required as you can offer any movement) and health professionals you will receive:
1. Education on the effects of trauma on the physical system and what this means for nervous system regulation
2. The role of neuroscience in the context of trauma and interventions
3. An understanding about how to bring the body into treatment when supporting people with PTSD or complex trauma
4. Opportunities to engage in TC-TSY practice
5. Practice facilitating with another person to develop your skills
6. Access to PowerPoint slides, videos links, practice videos,written resources and links
9. 14 hours in-person workshop delivered over 2 days (approximately 9.00 am to 5pm each day)
All participants will leave with an understanding of the physiological effects of trauma on the brain and body, the effects of the social context in which trauma can occur, and the neuroscience and psychological theory behind TCTSY.
Mental health professionals will obtain an evidence-based body focused practice to incorporate into their individual therapy work with people affected by trauma, and yoga teachers will learn how to make their classes more trauma-informed, including creating safe spaces and supporting the development of agency in participants.

TC-TSY is the ONLY yoga program that has been recognised as a clinical adjunctive treatment for trauma in the USA by SAMSHA: NREPP.

This workshop is facilitated by TCTSY, JRI Licensed Trainer, Joan Greaves TCTSY-Facilitator and Trainer. Registered ACC accredited Psychotherapist and Registered Yoga Teacher. Joan is part of Center of Trauma & Embodiment at JRI, Yoga Program, and therefore accredited by the Director of the Center for Trauma & Embodiment at JRI David Emerson.

THIS WORKSHOP SATISFIES ONE OF THE PREREQUISITES TO APPLY FOR THE 300-HOUR TRAUMA CENTER TRAUMA-SENSITIVE YOGA (TCTSY) CERTIFICATION PROGRAM https://www.traumasensitiveyoga.com HELD ANNUALLY LIVE ONLINE AND PRE-RECORDED ONLINE FROM SEPTEMBER TO APRIL.
THIS 20HR WORKSHOP PROVIDES IAYT AND YA MEMBERS CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS OF 18HRS AND 20HRS RESPECTIVELY AND CREDITS MAY ALSO BE AVAILABLE WITH OTHER PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION BODIES.
THIS WORKSHOP IS SOLELY FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND IS NOT A CERTIFICATE PROGRAM - TO BE CERTIFIED IN TCTSY COMPLETION OF THE 300HR TCTSY CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
THIS WORKSHOP IS NOT INTENDED AS AN INTERVENTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA. TALKING ABOUT TRAUMA, EVEN IN THE CONTEXT OF A PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CAN BE TRIGGERING/OVERWHELMING.

Refunds are NOT available within 2 weeks of the start of the workshop.
A transfer to an alternative existing scheduled workshop hosted by Joan Greaves may be available up to 2 weeks prior to the start of the workshop. Transfers are not usually available within 2 weeks of the workshop start date.
All transfers will incur a 10% administration fee.
