Micro Travel Writing & Photography with Will Yeoman

In this intensive two-hour workshop, travel writer and photographer Will Yeoman introduces basic writing and photographic concepts and techniques such as notetaking, observation, composition, atmosphere and sense of place. We'll start outdoors, collecting material with our notebooks and phone cameras before heading indoors to organise, distil and express our ideas as an integrated piece of micro travel writing accompanied by a set of photographs.

Will Yeoman is CEO of Writing WA and a freelance travel writer. Prior to taking up his present position, he was for over 15 years variously an arts writer, literary editor and travel writer, all at The West Australian. Will has travelled to, written about and photographed destinations as diverse as Tokyo, Amsterdam, London, Hyderabad, Danang, Bruges, Vienna, Paris and Arnhem Land.

Venue: State Library of Western Australia, Ground Floor, Geographe Room.
