Introduction to Treadle Sewing
Event description
Discover the basics of treadle sewing in this two-hour, hands-on workshop!
Wednesday, September 17th, 4-6pm.
Sunday, September 21st, 4-6pm
You’ll learn how these historic machines work, explore different bobbin types, and go over essential care and maintenance. Most excitingly, you’ll get to try three different treadle machines—including a gorgeous 1926 Singer 127 with ornate sphinx details, which will be up for auction at our upcoming fundraiser party!
Please note: this is an introductory skills workshop and discussion. Students will not leave with a finished craft, but will gain confidence in understanding and operating treadle machines.
This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about using a treadle for the first time or looking to build confidence with the basics! Ages 10 and up are welcome (youth must be accompanied by an adult).
$25/all materials provided.
Instructor: This class is taught by Karen.
