Treaty Information Session - National Reconciliation Week 2026

National Reconciliation Week marks an occasion where we acknowledge and pay respect to the lives and journeys of Australia's First Peoples, highlighting the resilience and strength of the world’s longest living culture.

Delivered by the City of Stonnington in partnership with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, this session will cover what Victoria’s Treaty is and what it means for all Victorians as we progress in our nation's journey towards reconciliation.

"Victoria's Statewide Treaty, passed into law in November 2025, is Australia's first-ever treaty between a state government and First Peoples, aimed at establishing a fairer future, empowering Aboriginal communities, and fostering reconciliation".

The theme for 2026 is ‘All In’, which makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport, but something that all of us must act on to create change.

The event will take place at the Banquet Hall, which can be accessed via the carpark at the rear of Malvern Town Hall, 1251 High St, Malvern 3144.
