Australia’s first Treaty between First Peoples in Victoria and the Victorian Government has been agreed upon. Learn about this historical journey to Truth and Treaty.

Dr Crystal McKinnon, is an Amangu Yamatji academic, researcher and community organiser. She is a historian and a critical Indigenous studies scholar, currently working at the University of Melbourne as an Associate Professor in History, Law and Justice. Read more

Treaty is Here
A major milestone in Victoria’s decade-long Treaty process has been achieved with the Victorian Government and First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria reaching in-principle agreement on Australia’s first Treaty.
The Statewide Treaty Bill proposes to make the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria permanent and expand its responsibilities to deliver better outcomes for First Peoples in Victoria. You can read about what's been negotiated here.
