Tree Planting and BBQ with the Friends of Southern Eyre Peninsula Parks

Event description

Join Friends of Southern Eyre Peninsula Parks and local National Parks and Wildlife Rangers for a morning of tree planting in the Lincoln National Park.

Volunteers and rangers will be helping to plant seedlings at the Granite Track fenced area in Lincoln National Park near September Beach.

Tree planting will involve digging holes, planting the seedling with a water well, watering and guarding, so please wear suitable clothing and bring a pair of gloves!

Following the tree planting there will be a sausage sizzle lunch.

Please meet at the entrance of the Lincoln National Park at 9am and make your own way to the Granite Track fenced area (approximately 27 km on sealed and then a graded dirt road).

*Vehicle entry to the park is free for registered attendees. You will however need to provide your vehicle registration plate number when completing checkout.

Accessibility

This activity will involve tree planting, digging holes, watering and installing tree guarding. A moderate level of fitness is required.

All ages interested in helping to improve the habitat and biodiversity of our protected areas.


Meeting Point

Lincoln National Park - Park Entry Station
*Please allow 15 minutes to travel to the meeting point if you are travelling from Port Lincoln.


What to Bring:

  • insect repellent
  • drinking water (1 litre minimum)
  • snacks
  • gardening gloves
  • chair (if you would like to sit for lunch)

  • This event will be postponed or cancelled in the event of unsuitable weather conditions or a total fire ban being declared in the Lower Eyre Fire Ban District.
