New year, new experiences! Join us for an adult women's bellydance class and discover something truly captivating. It's the perfect opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. Get that happy glow! Add some feminine, powerful, graceful dance movement into your weekly routine. Suitable for adult women, no matter what age, shape, size, or dance experience. This course is suitable for new and returning dancers.

Global Caravan TRIBAL Belly Dance (GCTB for short) - it’s a dance of today! An eclectic, invigorating and elegant fusion dance based on urban, folk, ritual, trance, bellydance, and modern dance. Women centric, we dance for joy and connection. In all of the dance classes you will be welcomed into a circle of women, a safe space to move your body in creative expression and to learn this dance language at your own pace.

Dates:
February 6, 13 & 20, cost is $45 for the 3 week course
We'll start the year energised with snappy hips - let's get our bodies moving with earthy beats and big hip movements.

What to expect:
You will be welcomed into a circle of women, a safe space to move your body in creative expression and to learn this dance language at your own pace. The format is GCTB - an eclectic, invigorating and elegant fusion dance based on urban, folk, ritual, trance, bellydance, and modern dance. Together, we dance for joy and connection.

About the FOUNDATIONS course

This is a bite sized Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance (GCTB) short course, great for a trial run and not too draining on the purse! This is not a one off, courses are run back-to-back through the year.

We will focus on:

Joy and fun first!
Verbal instruction, breaking down the moves
Drilling - learning through repetition
Developing foundational mastery and confidence
Foundation moves, basic combinations & formations

Hello, and welcome from Sienna, your host!

Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance (GCTB) nurtures my creative soul, it allows me to connect to self, it’s a moving meditation that helps to quieten my mind and energise my body. I love the feminine energy of the dance and the challenges and opportunities that dancing, teaching, performing and studying provides.

I am passionate about sharing this dance with like-minded women and endeavour to grow (and showcase!) the Global Caravan community in Cairns and worldwide.

I first started Tribal Bellydance in Innisfail, 2002 as a student with Nina Martinez of Temple Rain. It was during this time that Nina 'discovered' GCTB and our collective devotion to the format began.

After moving to Cairns I began teaching and established my own dance school 'Tribal Zest' in March 2007. So International Women's Day is an extra special anniversary date for me!

Since those early beginnings, I have deepened my commitment to Global Caravan Dance and have done intensive GCTB® study with Paulette Rees-Denis having achieved Collective Soul certifications Level One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and Seven, Teacher Training Certifications Level One, Two, Three and Four and Tribal Grooves Teacher Training Level One and Two. I am currently enrolled in Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance Master Teacher Level One Training. I am also a performing member of the Global Caravan Dance Company International.
