“Those words are our life’s work, Will’s life. If we don’t find them, they die with us.”
Three years after the death of their friend, William Shakespeare, The Kings Men reminisce on the golden days of storytelling and poetry at The Globe Theatre. London has become littered with abhorrent bootlegs of Shakespeare’s plays, and the new heads of The Kings Men, John Heminges and Henry Condell, realise that unless they act, the words of their friend will be lost forever.
Their quest to immortalize the plays of Shakespeare in the First Folio, leads them through the turmoil of grief and copyright infringement, the chaos of the paper business, and into the paths of a defiant poet, a passionate scrivener, a greedy publisher, and a vengeful poet laureate. Hinged on the success of this band of actors, storytellers, and alewives, is the legacy one of the most influential writers in the history of the world.

It is a great privilege to work, study, and create theatre on lands where storytelling and artistry have been central to its rich and continuing history.
