Event description

Knowledge has always been carried by story

As part of The Red Rattler's Future Communities Arts Program, we’re thrilled to invite you to Triple F —Faversham Film Festival. This unforgettable event will not only show the dynamic creativity of our community but also mark the official launch of the Future Communities 2025 Arts Program. The Red Rattler is a place that is difficult to define as it means so much to so many people, thousands have contributed to what it is. It’s a queer-run playground, a melting pot where a multitude of perspectives cross-pollinate to play, resist, celebrate, grieve, and organise. It’s a place where we come together, look each other in the eye, and ask, "Where to from here?" Its key strength is its a village, or as Kilia Tipa Pahulu has called it “its the garden”.

The films and artworks featured offer an intimate journey into the lives of artists, activists, and community makers who have contributed their rich knowledge to this place. They share ecosystems of possibility, the influence of which reaches far beyond these walls. Triple F will show a collection of short documentaries celebrating seven extraordinary individuals who have imparted their knowledge to the Red Rattler: Akala Newman, Kween G, Kilia Tipa Pahulu, Nicole Barakat, Angie Goto, Steven Lindsay Ross, & Jamaica Moana. The festival also features artworks from current and past Artists in Residence: Talo Niko, Monty Hancock & Fetu Taku collaborating with Lamartautaiolefue.  The short documentaries are created by Red Rattler X Studio Sensorium X FLENK Collective.

Important Note- Ticketing: The Red Rattler has made the choice to keep the Future Communities Arts Program financially accessible. We know these are challenging times, and we firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to engage with this transformative program, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we’ve introduced an accessible ticket pricing system—offering a suggested ticket price but trusting you to pay what you can. Every dollar you contribute directly sustains our community-run venue and supports the brilliant artists, activists, thinkers, makers who create bold, evocative & visionary work that speaks to the now. What matters most to us is that everyone can participate. And while we leave the choice to you, we want you to know that your support, in whatever form, is the lifeblood of the Red Rattler.
