Introducing our MC Dr Dinesh Palipana
We are beyond honoured to announce that the incredible Dr Dinesh Palipana will be joining us as the official MC for the 2026 Triple Zero Gala 2026 Dr Dinesh Palipana’s story is one of resilience, determination, leadership, and heart. After sustaining a spinal cord injury during medical school, Dinesh went on to become Queensland’s first quadriplegic medical intern and has since continued breaking barriers in ways that inspire people across Australia and beyond. Today, Dinesh works in the Emergency Department at Gold Coast University Hospital, while also balancing an extraordinary range of roles across medicine, research, education, advocacy, and sport. He is a senior lecturer at Griffith University, assistant professor at Bond University, and co-leads the BioSpine research team focusing on spinal cord injury research and innovation. Beyond his clinical and academic work, Dinesh is also the doctor for the Gold Coast Titans Physical Disability Rugby League team, a passionate disability advocate, and has served as a senior advisor to the Disability Royal Commission. He also sits on advisory and leadership boards, continuing to influence important conversations around healthcare, accessibility, and inclusion across Australia. From being named Queensland Australian of the Year in 2021, to receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2019, to publishing his autobiography "Stronger", Dinesh embodies everything the Triple Zero Gala stands for - courage, compassion, perseverance, and service to others. To have someone of his calibre helping lead this very special evening is something we are incredibly proud of
