Trivia with Kiki Delux - raising funds for at risk Afghans

The night

Join us Saturday August 24 for a superb night of trivia fun, hosted by the fabulous Kiki Delux.   Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm sharp start.

The reason

More than two years ago, I was connected with two Afghani actresses and an actor/director, to help them apply for humanitarian visas to Australia.

Through this process I built a friendship with them, and have seen how difficult life under the Taliban has become for them.  They have endured kidnap attempts, televised threats, poverty and more.  

It has become clear that they cannot be issued a humanitarian visa by Australia or other countries unless they are able to move to a third country and register with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).   They have decided to apply for visas for Pakistan, where they can register with UNHCR.

Having been unable to work for two years, they need support to make this move.  This trivia evening is will raise funds to support them to apply for the visa (AUD$500 per person) and to cover their travel and initial living expenses.

All funds are managed through Ballina Region for Refugees.
