Walking on Boodja with Troy Bennell
Event description
Register now for an immersive cultural walk on the Leschenault Estuary led by Noongar man, Troy Bennell. Troy will take you on a journey that offers a unique perspective, showing a very different side of Bunbury and the Leschenault Estuary. He is a natural storyteller and his passion for the region is woven into Dreaming stories and yarns about the traditional way of life he experienced growing up in this captivating location.
The Collie River and Leschenault Estuary are places of great cultural significance for the local Noongar people, both as a plentiful source of bushfood and traditional medicines, and as a spiritual place central to many Dreaming stories.
Watch, listen and learn while taking in the beautiful sights of bushland and estuary. The 2-hour walking tour, culminates in a yarning circle, providing a setting for further discussion and reflection. This walking tour promises an unforgettable experience, inviting the community to deepen their understanding of Noongar culture and foster connections between the land and its custodians.
