Event description

Want the ultimate paddock-to-plate experience? This is the event for you. Kitchen Takeover and Te Puke Truffles have teamed up to offer a paddock-to-plate lunch and truffle hunting experience.

Since 2015 Maureen and Colin, owners of Te Puke truffles have been harvesting some of the best quality truffles in New Zealand. Now they want to invite you onto their lifestyle farm to go and hunt a truffle.

You will get to go on a search with their truffle hunting dog Jed as he sniffs out a black Perigord truffle at the height of the truffle season which only lasts from late to May through to July.

Once you have found the edible treasure, you will get to enjoy the harvest of the farm with a host of tastings, plus a two course lunch and a glass of wine cooked by Jordan Verner at the Trading Post. Jordan trained in France at Michelin starred restaurants before coming to New Zealand. His style of cooking is focused on unpretentious good quality & locally sourced products all underpinned by French cooking techniques.
