Learning to gather our mind to be our friend rather than our foe is sometimes a challenge. This is an opportunity to experience a practice where we gently encourage our mind to follow instead of leading the pack.

So how do we train our mind to become our friend?

It sounds so easy….all this stuff about mindfulness, meditation, positive affirmations and so on…they are all great tools and research is showing the positive value of these things with modern medicine using them in treatment protocols for mental health and well-being.

Yoga is all of these things.

The goal of yoga according to Patanjali is meditation, and if you are not practicing mindfulness in a yoga practice it’s not yoga, affirmations or bhuvana is only one of the subtle tools of yoga…. All of these lie in the entirety of the practice of Yoga.
