‘Truth, Lies and Media’ – meet the podcasters

ABC Friends Inner Melbourne is delighted to host an opportunity to meet journalist Nicole Chvastek and media academic Dr Denis Muller, the duo behind the Truth, Lies and Media podcast.

The podcast was launched during the election campaign earlier this year. Six months on it shows no signs of running short of issues to dissect.  This event includes an audience Q&A so bring your questions.

Nicole Chvastek’s career in journalism began with a cadetship to the ABC, where she was later a news reporter, senior producer for Jon Faine’s Morning show and presenter of ABC Radio’s Statewide Drive program. She has also reported for Seven Network television and currently writes for The Politics. 

Dr Denis Muller has held senior roles in print journalism in Australia and the UK. He completed a doctoral thesis on media ethics and accountability and is a senior lecturer at the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne. He has also written on the media for The Conversation on many occasions.

The event will be moderated by Dr Jennifer Bowen. She has been a radio producer at the BBC World Service and ABC Radio National, and taught journalism at Monash University.
