Tūhura: Research insights, future innovations
Event description
Ka mua, ka muri. Take a journey with us as we chart the course for tomorrow.
ConCOVE’s 2024 forum is a day dedicated to expanding our minds, pushing boundaries, and collectively shaping the future of vocational education and training in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Highlights of the event include:
Future of Learning: Katherine, our Executive Director, will deliver the latest learnings from her recent study trip to Germany, Italy, and the ConCOVE-led UNESCO BILT project. Eve Price will provide an update on the Degree Level Apprentices project and its pilot program.
Future of work-culture: We will explore three of ConCOVE’s projects supporting women in construction. From examining women’s experiences in the construction industry to discussing the Theory of Change for a bystander culture and interventions for wahine Māori, this is a session not to be missed.
Future of training: Dr. Kylie Taffard will share her findings and a summary of the three ConCOVE-funded training projects, exploring the synergy of work-based trainers, classroom kaiako, and training advisors. A workshop will be held to support these findings.
Empower Māori success: Dr. Don Samarasinghe from Massey University will present his findings from a project aimed at supporting Māori in high-skill roles.
Dynamic Panel Discussions: Engage with industry experts as they discuss the potential solutions to address skilled-labour shortage in civil construction.
