Event description
Tultyurrinthi with Renee Watego - Exploring the Story of Baiame
This workshop will immerse participants in the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous Australian tribes through the story of Baiame, the ancient sky god. Learn life lessons from Aboriginal lore through storytelling, dance, and art.
Join Renee on a cultural journey as we explore the story of Baiame, revered as the creator god and Sky Father. Baiame holds a central place in the spiritual beliefs of several Indigenous Australian tribes, including the Wonnarua, Kamilaroi, Eora, Darkinjung, and Wiradjuri peoples of New South Wales. This workshop will use storytelling, dance, and art to uncover the lessons from this Dreamtime story. Followed by a Yarning Circle and Reflection where we share reflections and insights, fostering a deeper understanding and connection to the cultural heritage of Indigenous Australian tribes.
