    Join the City of Stirling to develop your knowledge and skills on owning and driving a car. 

    Suitable for both new drivers and experienced drivers who want to refresh their skills and knowledge. The program focuses on three key areas: Driver Development, Vehicle Maintenance and Vehicle Purchasing. 

    Driver Development

    • hazard identification and crash avoidance through the ‘6 Steps to Proactive Driving TM’
    • driver distraction
    • technology use
    • roadside observation
    • following distance
    • night driving
    • intersection safety.

    Vehicle Maintenance

    • how to maintain a vehicle for passive and active crash avoidance
    • know about the different types of petrol
    • how to change and fill oils
    • know how to fill water and fluids
    • vehicle electrics
    • check your tyre tread
    • know the safety equipment that's in cars and how to set them up
    • as well as how to safely change a flat tyre.

    Vehicle Purchasing

    • how to use the ANCAP or Used Car Safety Ratings to check the stars on your dream car
    • to buy the safest car possible
    • learn about safety features that can help avoid a crash.

    Light refreshments will be provided on the day

    This program is presented by the City of Stirling's Road Safety and Community Partnership's team. It is aimed at anyone over 16 years of age.

    The workshop will be held in the Meeting Room at the Osborne Hub - parking is available underground or otherwise across the road at 223 Main Street Osborne Park
