Explore the fascinating transformation of an abandoned Tasmanian railway tunnel into a thriving hub for growing gourmet mushrooms. Tunnel Hill Mushrooms founder Dean will be joined by Tim from West Tamar Fungi to teach you about the production process from lab to tunnel and how to harvest mushrooms and prepare them for cooking. Then you’ll have a chance to mix your own straw mushroom logs to produce fresh mushrooms at home. As you hear about the epic history of the railway-tunnel-turned-mushroom-grow-room, you’ll also get the chance to pick and sample mushrooms, which Dean will grill up for you on his one-of-a-kind Train BBQ!
