Tuntun Polar: A Celebration
Event description
Tuntun Polar: A Celebration Concert
Join us for a celebration performance of brand new lullabies that have been co-written by parents and carers of First Nations children at Willow Children's Centre, Mt Barker. The newly composed songs celebrate the wonder and value of each child and their inherent connection to land, water and culture.
About Tuntun Polar 2021
Tuntun Polar is a new program from Lullaby Project Australia that encourages Foster/Kinship Carers, in the Adelaide Hills, to explore and connect foster children (0-5 years) to their Indigenous culture and community connections.
Built in collaboration with The Willows Children’s Centre and Child and Family Health Services (CaFHS), and in consultation with Senior Peramangk Woman, Mandy Brown and Lorelle Hunter; this new program will see the co-creation of special lullabies that explore each child’s identity, connection to culture, cultural pride, and connection with family. These unique songs will be performed, recorded, and presented to the children and families as a lifelong connection and source of pride to their Aboriginal identity. A Community Lullaby will be co-written by all participants to be shared and enjoyed by all for years to come.
