Google Panellists 

  • Hautahi KingiHautahi Kingi (Nga Rauru, Te Atihaunui a Paparangi) is a Senior Data Scientist at Google in New York City. He works on reducing bias in YouTube's recommendation algorithms and creating models to limit the spread of misinformation on YouTube. Before Google, Hautahi was a research scientist at Meta, and an economist at IMPAQ international. Hautahi grew up on Pakaraka marae near Whanganui. He studied Maths and Economics at Victoria University before moving to the US to study a PhD in economics at Cornell University.

  • Alyssa Gray Alyssa Gray-Leasiolagi is a Trust & Safety Global Policy Lead for Google’s Generative AI products. Alyssa is of Samoan and Native American descent, identifies as indigenous and grew up in Hawaii. Alyssa was fortunate enough to have mentors within Public Policy from a young age shadowing my local legislature members at the age of 11. Since then she have worked in various types of policies over the past 22 years, earned 3 bachelors degrees from the University of California at Riverside, and went on to earn 3 professional Masters Degrees from Pepperdine University. Around 6 years ago, Alyssa received a phone call asking if she was interested in a job at Google. About 5 years ago Alyssa became a policy consultant at Google, took a contract at Meta for a few months, and 2 years accepted my current position back at Google. It's been an interesting few years working on keeping our products responsibly made for Google users. 

  • Mathew RexMathew Rex is a Senior Analyst at Google in Dublin, Ireland, for the Trust and Safety Shopping Policy Enforcement team. He works on developing trust systems and processes for Shopping Generative AI products, as well as ensuring that the Google Shopping platform is safe for users. As a proud Niuean Kiwi, he grew up in Wellington, graduating from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Public Policy. Following stints as a policy advisor in Wellington and a marketing analyst in London, he joined Google in 2020.
