About the workshop
Learn the traditional art of Turkish weaving with Şebnem to make beautiful, colourful material creations and learn a bit about Turkish culture at the same time. No experience required.What will you learn?
Children will learn the simple under-and-over rhythm of weaving, how to use colour and texture, and how threads can become their own little picture or story.
Do I bring anything?
Just bring a water bottle, your curiosity and imagination! All weaving materials will be provided.
About Your Teacher
Şebnem Kumtepe is a textile weaver who loves sharing Turkish and Anatolian weaving traditions with children. She has a special interest in colorful yarns and may get even more excited about your woven creations than you do!!! Her workshops are calm and fun spaces where every child can create something unique.
