Event description

The world is on fire, our political leadership is only concerned about their pockets, and we don’t know what’s coming next. Instead of fretting, we organize! Together in community, we celebrate the Jewish holiday of Purim, the story of stealth revolutionary organizing that overthrows an authoritarian supremacist king. As is tradition, we are told to turn everything on its head so it’s not quite as it seems, to peer into another world and envision what can be possible with old and new friends and comrades along the way.

Featuring:
Radical revelry! Klezmer dance-party with Shpilkis!
A tasty tease of burlesque by Celia Lipshutz!
Come in costume! Mutual Aid! Homentashn!

Event starts at 7pm

Full bar w/ID

Food by Chef Tay

Founded in 2017, Shpilkis is a 7-piece Seattle-based Klezmer brass band bringing you old-school Yiddish grooves with tuchus-shaking energy.

Celia Lipshutz is a raunchy rebel with a mouth that won’t stay quiet. With the loudest lips in the northwest, this burlesque and drag artist, producer, and emcee is a lifelong performer who has been shaking their tassels throughout Seattle since 2017. Whether serving up a sensual serenade, campy drag, or something dark and dirty, Seattle’s voluptuous vocalist will have you loosening your belt faster than a bowl of bubbe's matzoh ball soup. Oy vey!
