For generations, some of the best business relationships, ideas and opportunities have happened outside the office — over golf, drinks, lunches and conversations.
But not everyone plays golf.
So we're creating our version.
TURN UP Fridays is a weekly creative coworking and connection day at Artful Yoga Gallery.
A place for founders, creatives, entrepreneurs, freelancers, small-business owners and people with ideas to turn up, get some work done, meet interesting humans and see what happens.
No awkward networking.
No name tags and elevator pitches.
No pretending to be busier or more successful than you are.
Just good people, Wi-Fi, art, conversations, ideas and a room full of people building things.
HOW IT WORKS
Bring your laptop, notebook, project, half-formed idea or simply yourself.
Spend the day working from the gallery, and between the work there'll be opportunities to meet other people, share skills, ask for help, exchange ideas and discover what everyone else is creating.
Need a graphic designer? Someone in the room might be one.
Need advice on your website? Ask.
Looking for a collaborator, photographer, accountant, marketer, artist or someone who knows someone?
Tell the room.
The idea isn't to collect contacts.
It's to create a community where resources, knowledge, opportunities and people circulate.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Creatives. Founders. Freelancers. Entrepreneurs. Artists. Consultants. Designers. Startups. Small-business owners. People working remotely. People between ideas. People starting again.
And people who simply want to work around interesting humans doing interesting things.
You don't need to have a business.

- What exactly is TURN UP Fridays?
URN UP Fridays is a casual coworking + connection day for creatives, founders, freelancers, entrepreneurs and people building interesting things.
Think Friday golf — but for the creative community. Come work, meet people, exchange ideas, share resources and make new connections.
- Do I have to be a founder or entrepreneur?
Not at all. If you’re a creative, freelancer, artist, remote worker, small business owner, side-hustler, student, or simply working on an idea — you’re welcome.
You don’t need a fancy title. Just turn up.
- Is this a networking event?
Kind of — but without the awkward networking.
There are no forced elevator pitches or pressure to sell yourself. The idea is to work alongside interesting people and allow genuine conversations and collaborations to happen naturally.
- Do I need to stay for the whole day?
No. Come when you can and leave when you need to.
Stay for an hour, a few hours or make the gallery your office for the day.
- What should I bring?
Bring whatever you need to work — laptop, charger, notebook, headphones and your current project or idea.
And perhaps bring one ask and one offer: something you could use help with, and something you could help someone else with.
- What is “The Ask & The Offer”?
At some point during the day, we’ll create an opportunity for everyone to briefly share:

What do you need?
What can you offer?Maybe you need a photographer. Maybe someone else needs a copywriter. Maybe you know exactly the person they should meet.
That’s the magic we want to create.
- Can I come alone?
Absolutely — we actually encourage it.
TURN UP is designed to make it easy to arrive by yourself and meet people without needing to already know someone in the room.
- Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available so you can bring your laptop and actually get some work done between conversations.
- Where is it?

- Parking
Yes! There is on-street parking around the gallery, including along Vale Street, Greeves Street and Barkly Street.
Barkly Street generally has more short-term parking options, while the surrounding residential streets have a mix of timed and permit restrictions. Always check the street signs when you park, as restrictions and hours vary between sections.
If you’re planning to stay and cowork for most of the day, allow a little extra time to find a suitable longer-stay spot nearby.
