SBP Business Lunch

Following on from this year's NAIDOC theme of Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! Sourdough Business Pathways and Sourdough Business Women is delighted to present it's next business lunch - an opportunity to listen to our leading Indigenous organisations, ask all the questions and find out how you can better engage with community.

We are delighted to have these special guest speakers joining us on the day:

– Tina Pidcock, Tweed Aboriginal Cooperative Society

– Tim Appo, Aboriginal Advisory Committee, Tweed Shire Council

– Leweena Williams, Tweed Byron Local Aboriginal Land Council

Join us for a welcome drink on arrival and a delicious 2 course lunch.

Are you keen to increase engagement with your local Indigenous community but don’t know where to start?

Would you like to know how you can best create purposeful business connections?

Are you doing business in the Tweed? Come and learn how to engage with the Indigenous community, and join in conversation with representatives from our key local Aboriginal organisations.

Following this year’s NAIDOC week, the Tweed region experienced an increased engagement from the broader community across the events, including over 1000 people at the march.

This is a chance to further engage with key people from our peak Aboriginal organisations regarding appropriate processes and people to contact for more in-depth information.

What you can expect to benefit from the day and beyond:

  • Connect with the right people and build community together
  • Appropriate use of Aboriginal language, imagery and artwork
  • Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremonies or understanding Acknowledgement to Country
  • Understanding different aspects of Aboriginal culture, local regions and mobs
  • Who to contact if you’re looking for Aborginal employees, as well as information on how to access appropriate people within the Aboriginal community.
  • Open up the narrative about how you can work with the local Aboriginal community.

Supporting the Tweed business community through mentoring, education and connection.
