Description

Finding (Moments of) Ease in the Midst of it All

In these uncertain times, deep steadiness of heart and mind can feel increasingly out of reach. Yet when we bring our meditative practice directly into our human relationships, new understandings become possible as we face our challenges together.

This two-day workshop offers an immersive introduction to Insight Dialogue, a relational meditation practice. Through its six guiding principles, we learn to settle deeply — even in the presence of difficulty — and from that meditative ground, to speak and listen in ways that open up fresh perspectives and genuine insight.

Meditating together in pairs and small groups, our capacity for kindness, care, and clarity develops naturally, and with it, a greater ability to meet the full range of what life brings us with some degree of ease and equanimity.

This workshop is best suited to people who have some experience of insight/vipassanā/mindfulness meditation, but prior Insight Dialogue experience is not required.

Times and days: 9:30-4:30 pm Saturday and Sunday

Food: Please bring your own lunch. Teas and herbal teas will be supplied.

Equipment: Some chairs will be available, but please bring your own meditation cushion or bench if you have one, and a shawl or blanket.

NOTE: In support of our group practice, please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt start, and make a commitment to stay for the full day, each day

Cost: $100 registration fee + dāna/donation* to the teacher

Cancellation policy:
Full refund (minus a $25 admin fee) up to two weeks before the event starts.

* The registration fee covers a contribution to the venue hire, the teacher's travel expenses, and admin costs associated with running the event.
In keeping with Buddhist tradition, the teachings are freely offered on a dāna basis which means the teacher is not paid to offer this workshop. Instead, they rely on the generosity of the participants to help them continue to share their teachings with others, and there will be an opportunity at the end of the workshop to offer donations to support their ongoing teaching.
