    Event description

Sometimes provocative, usually delicious, always authentic. There are few breweries in the world (let alone Australia) as unique in their approach to fermentation as Two Metre Tall.

This brewery, hailing and showcasing the Derwent Valley in Tasmania, is turning 20 years old, and its history is one to be celebrated.

Farmers first, makers second. Ashley and Jane Huntington moved from the southern French vineyards to a farm in Tassie with their young family back in 2004 and settled on a farm with a dream of growing vines and making wine, but though discovering the rich hop growing history of the area, they decided to embrace beer as their project.

Passionately independent farmers, they are a two-person operation, with Ashley and Jane doing everything themselves on their beautiful site. Through experience, trial and error, and a hell of a lot of patience, they've established Two Metre Tall as one of the most unique and long-lasting independent brewing operations in the whole country.

On Saturday 14th of September we will be hosting Ashley at Carwyn Cellars, where we will be hosting a full venue tap takeover, tapping 20 different kegs of the wild concoctions by Two Metre Tall AND we’ll be hosting a full bar Masterclass lead by Ashley himself talking about their rich history and the ups and downs of the past 20 years. If you have ever heard this (very tall) man talking, you know you’re in for an absolute treat.

The Private Masterclass will run from 11am to 2pm. Tickets are $65 (+BF) and they include:

    • Welcome drink
    • 10 x 100ml Tasters of Two Metre Tall brews
    • Guided Tasting by Two Metre Tall founder & brewer Ashley Huntington
    • Special snack from the Carwyn Kitchen

*Please note, the bar will be closed to the public for this masterclass event and will open for general public at 2pm sharp. We recommend arriving at 10:45am to ensure the Masterclass starts on time.
