TWO METRE TALL (TAS) @ SCENIC HOTEL: WILD FERMENT TAKEOVER | 8 JUNE 2025
Event description
TWO METRE TALL AT THE SCENIC HOTEL - WILD FERMENTATION TAKES THE FLOOR - FREE ENTRY (PLEASE RSVP)
It’s been nearly 30 years since Two Metre Tall’s Ashley Huntington studied oenology in Adelaide — and now he’s back at the Scenic Hotel to showcase his wild, spontaneous, grape-free fermentation journey.
Join us up the hill for a Sunday celebration of farmhouse ale, cider and mead — drinks made slow, natural, and with serious flavour. No added yeast. No cold fizzy lager. Just the raw beauty of fermentation born from place, person, and time.
SPECIAL RELEASE BEERS AVAILABLE FROM 1PM | INSIGHTS AND FREE FORM FERMENTATION CHAT WITH ASHLEY ALL DAY
Two Metre Tall has been breaking down stereotypes of what beer is in Australia for over 20 years — producing beverages more like wine, but made with ingredients other than grapes. Born and brewed on their Derwent Valley farm in regional Tasmania, these drinks are true expressions of terroir: the land, the microflora, the humans, and the long, slow rhythm of fermentation.
This is not your average beer event. This is a chance to open your mind, try something different, and learn how radically beautiful fermentation can be.
Let’s taste. Let’s dance. Let’s rethink everything we thought we knew about beer.
