South West author Glenda Kirkby will be at Dunsborough Library to talk about her book Two Rivers- a powerful historical novel of courage, resilience, and life in colonial Western Australia.
About the book:
Western Australia in the 1860s is not an easy place for a woman who knows her worth, and Amelia McDonald has spent her life defying convention. Two Rivers is a compelling story set on a farm near York, Western Australia, where settlers are newcomers or first-generation colonials. As they battle the challenges of an unforgiving land, the women must draw on every ounce of strength and determination to forge their own paths and shape their futures.
About the author:
Glenda grew up in Perth, and spending time at her parent’s holiday home on the Moore River. She learnt to ride horses at nine, and after a stay at a schoolmate’s sheep station north of Kalgoorlie, developed a deep love of remote wilderness and thirst for adventure.
Now retired in the southwest of WA, she writes full time of strong women and wild country while she plots her next adventure.
This is event is free, however bookings are required. Light refreshments provided, and copies of the book will be available to buy and be signed by Glenda on the day.
