Two years have passed since the launch of the Engineering Declaration of Climate and Biodiversity Emergency. Today, 185 organisations and over 1,900 engineers have signed the Declaration, publicly communicating their commitment to action on climate change and biodiversity loss.

Since the Declaration was launched, our world has been challenged by major new crises impacting our health, our community, our environment, and our businesses. In this rapidly changing context, a growing movement of organisations and individuals have been navigating the complexity of adaptation, mitigation and culture change to sustain then thrive. Many have been grappling with the question - what does it mean for the engineering profession to fulfil its potential and responsibilities regarding climate action in this context?

Our panel members will share their experiences leading action on climate change over the last 2 years. We’ll have the opportunity to learn from their experiences so that we all can effectively drive our own climate action journey at a pace commensurate to the scale of the emergency.

This discussion is particularly timely as we approach the start of the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 and the focus on global leadership for climate action.
