Event description

Typica NIGHTS 'We Love Mums'

Your favourite brunch location is now open at night on 7 May, just before Mother's Day.

The Typica team love coffee, love food and love music. After two sold out productions in 2020 (Shakespeare Down the Pub: A Midsummer Night's Dream and Songs & Sonnets over Dinner with Lakespeare & Co), this beloved Manuka cafe is launching Typica NIGHTS in 2022. This time, Randall Purcell of Se-Lah Management and Lexi Sekuless Productions are teaming up to enliven the Lawns and get two hard hit industries booming!

The evening is uniquely themed for an extraordinary and intimate night of entertainment. Musicians are in amongst the audience and the night is masterfully MC’d by radio host, Ryan Banks AKA ‘Banksy’. In addition to music, food and drinks, Joanne Flowers of Manuka will be open late with range of grab and go seasonal bouquets!

Our May 7 evening is specially themed ahead of Mother's Day - we all love our mums! Treat her to a special night!

Typica is a semi outdoor venue so please consider bringing layers. During these colder Canberra months the music will be hot - we promise - and the temporary walls will be down with Typica ceiling heaters turned on. All patrons will be reminded about the forecast but make sure you consider the temperature and what kind of conditions are OK for you.

We couldn't do this evening without the amazing expertise and sponsorship from Elite Event Technology.

Sugerman released I'd Do It All Again with LANKS as a part of his hotly anticipated double album Spirits. She then released her debut single 'i wanna kiss boys cos i'm bored' (co-written and produced with Hauskey and MUKI), premiered and spotlighted on triple J Unearthed and added to Spotify's New Music Friday AU & NZ and Indie Pop playlists.

This was followed by 'colour blind', co-written and produced with Dylan Nash (Dean Lewis, Eluera, Shannen James, The Million), with a sold-out single launch at the Lord Gladstone in Sydney. Lucy was also selected to be a part of APRA AMCOS' SongHubs Melbourne 2021, the first ever all women and non-binary identifying songwriting sessions of its kind, alongside the likes of Alex Lahey, Eilish Gilligan, Ninajirachi, Odette, Tulliah, Woodes, and guest writers Montaigne, G Flip, KLP, Lisa Mitchell and Anna Laverty curated by Gretta Ray.
