UBUNTU is an ancient African philosophy meaning “I am because we are,” celebrating our shared humanity, compassion, and deep interconnectedness.
On Saturday 1st November, the Mullum Civic Hall will come alive with an unforgettable evening of rhythm, dance, and connection – curated by master West African dancer, singer, drummer and teacher musician Gabriel Otu
PROGRAM
4:00pm – African Drum & Dance Workshop
Led by Gabriel Otu and Nii Armah – feel the beat, learn the moves, and experience the joy of African rhythm first-hand.
6:00pm – Doors Open to public
Enjoy delicious authentic Ghanaian cuisine and drinks from our festival bar.
7:00pm – Ghana Kpanlogo Brothers
Explosive drumming and vibrant dance to set the night in motion.
8:00pm – Priscila Rios
Priscila Tanajura Rios is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and percussionist . Born and raised in Salvador, Bahia her influences come from an early exposure to various forms of music, cultural expressions, and manifestations from the Northeast of Brazil.
With her powerful voice, charisma, and strong personality she represents the voice of Samba Reggae and Afro Bahia music in Oceania.
9:30pm – Happy Africa Full Band
An exhilarating finale with Gabriel Otu and his powerhouse band – a true celebration of UBUNTU in music and spirit.
