In collaboration with the UC Business School, this joint alumni and MBA Thought Leadership event is part of a series run by the UC MBA programme which brings together leading business minds from New Zealand and abroad. Industry, students, and alumni are invited to be inspired by innovative and insightful expertise from executives and entrepreneurs.

    Guest Speaker: Sharon Zollner
Chief Economist at ANZ Bank, Sharon Zollner almost dropped economics in her second year at UC. A lecturer convinced her to continue and after completing an internship at the Reserve Bank she discovered a passion for the field. While she enjoys the fast pace of her current role, it's the public service aspect that resonates with her the most.

“I particularly enjoy the educational aspect of what I do. I find it very rewarding to help people understand the bigger forces at work which impact them on a personal level.”

After graduating from UC, Sharon was an economist at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and spent time at the Central Bank of Norway before moving into the private sector with Westpac, and then ANZ.
