Haere Mai | Welcome!
If you are a new UC international student (or transitioning to campus for the first time), join us for a fun and
informative welcome to help you meet other students, key international support staff, and learn how to settle into
your new life in Ōtautahi Christchurch as a UC international student!
Students who are welcome to join this event are:
- New international undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Study Abroad and Exchange students
- New Zealand Manaaki Scholarship students
- UCIC, CCEL and other pathway students transitioning to the UC Campus
Location:
Ngaio Marsh Theatre, Haere-roa (UCSA), 90 Ilam Road, Ilam, Christchurch
What’s involved?
- 9:45 am Students arrive at Ngaio Marsh Theatre
- 10 am, Welcome
- 10.15 am, The need-to-know info
- 10.35 am, Icebreaker activity
- 10.45 am, Break
- 11.00 am, Student Care presentation
- 11.20 am, Feel safe and be safe
- 11.40 am, Quick hello from student services
- 11.55 am, What’s on this afternoon
- 12.00 pm, Lunch and student services market (a light lunch box is provided, but please bring your own snacks or food if needed)
- 1 pm, Amazing race on campus
- 2.30 pm, Two concurrent sessions: Student panel session for adult students; Session for study abroad and exchange students
- 3.30 pm, The event ends
