Description

At university, we sometimes witness situations that aren’t okay - discriminatory jokes, harassment, harmful alcohol use, or someone disclosing an assault. Many of us want to help but aren’t sure how to step in safely or effectively.

As part of Respect Week, the UC Medical and Counselling Centre is offering a free 2‑hour bystander intervention workshop for students. The session covers practical strategies for responding to discrimination, bullying, sexual assault, harassment, intimate partner violence, mental health concerns, and unsafe drug or alcohol use.

You’ll learn how stressful situations affect decision‑making, how to take clear action under pressure, and what support services are available on campus and in the community, including UC’s reporting options.

Register now to reserve your spot in the group. If you have any questions or enquiries, please contact hannah.coffee@canberra.edu.au. More information available here.
