Ukraine Film Fundraiser
Event description
Celebrate Ukrainian culture and support Ukraine’s fight for freedom at a special cinematic event on Wednesday 12 March at Wildflower Picture House and Bar in Fitzroy North, Naarm.
Join us for the Australian premiere of the award-winning Ukrainian comedy film Luxembourg, Luxembourg! The event includes an introduction from Ukrainian advocate Oksana Piddubna as well as a market stall featuring handmade Ukrainian goods and a Ukranian bake sale.
This event is our way of showing support for Ukraine and her people who have been under daily attack since the full-scale invasion more than 1000 days ago. All funds raised will be donated to critical war efforts by helping purchase a vehicle for the Ukrainian military.

About the film
When twin brothers hear that their long-absent father is sick in Luxembourg, they set out on a journey to see him one last time. As the pair of brothers, one a small-time drug dealer and the other a small-time cop, attempt to reunite with their dying father, they end up causing more chaos than intended. Inspired by the experience of his own father’s death, Ukrainian writer/director Antonio Lukich delivers a humorous and humane film that asks ‘Why are we so drawn to those who constantly run away from us?’
Starring Amil Nasirov, Ramil Nasirov, Lyudmyla Sachenko and Nataliya Gnitiy.
Running time: 105 minutes.
