Event description

Українські студії в Австралії: Минуле, теперішнє та майбутнє

Симпозіум присвячений до Дня Незалежності України

This event marks Ukraine’s Independence Day, celebrated on 24 August since 1991. At a time when Ukraine is resisting Russia’s full-scale invasion, support for Ukrainian studies obtains a profound public and academic importance, recognizing the resilience of Ukrainian culture and its place in the global context. Organized by the Faculty of Arts Research Initiative on the Post-Soviet Space, the Symposium highlights the history, current developments, and future directions of Ukrainian studies in Australia, particularly in Victoria and at the University of Melbourne. It will showcase the ongoing achievements of the academic community, Ukrainian public diplomacy, and the Ukrainian community in Australia in advancing and supporting Ukrainian studies across the country.
