Ultimate Wheelchair Basketball Experience

Vicsport is pleased to be partnering with VicHealth and Basketball Victoria to bring the industry the ultimate wheelchair basketball experience at the State Basketball Centre.

This half-day event will provide participants with a small glimpse into the challenges and experiences a wheelchair user can face when navigating the sports environment - from stadium doors to stadium floors.

Following the wheelchair basketball experience, participants will be joined by athletes with disabilities and industry providers for a panel over lunch.

This opportunity is available to all staff from Victorian State Sport Associations (SSAs), Regional Sport Assemblies (RSAs) and State Sport & Recreation Bodies (SSRBs).

The workshop will include:

• The ultimate wheelchair basketball experience

• Navigating the State Basketball Centre in a wheelchair

• Lunch and learn panel with guest speakers:
  - Ayden Shaw (Disability Sports Australia CEO)
  - Laura Thomson (Reclink Australia AAA Play Senior Coordinator)
  - Carl Partridge (Sport4All National Manager) and
  - Maria Strong (Sport4All Inclusion Coach - State Sports)
